Be a positive role model for children
We want to give our children and young people a body confident start to life so that they can achieve everything they want to. We know that low body confidence can affect children as young as five so it’s vital that we start tackling it from an early age. If you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, brother or sister you can affect the way the children in your life think about their bodies. If you have responsibility for a child, ensure you set a positive example and encourage body confidence by using positive and avoiding negative language about your own body image or that of others.
Give your friends real compliments
Everything you say about someone’s appearance will have a positive or negative impact on the way they feel.
Be a positive force for positive confidence
Support friends, family and colleagues to face down body anxiety and have the confidence to make the most of life.
